BlazBlue Producer Wants To Make Marvel And DC Fighting Games

Gearnuke had a chance to talk with Toshimichi Mori, creator, and Producer of the BlazBlue series at Arc REVO America 2019, this past weekend. And as we work to transcribe the full contents of the interview, the way he answered one question, in particular, might come as a bit of a surprise.

When asked about what IP he would like to work, he had this to say:

I love Marvel and DC comics. So if I had a chance to work on those I would more than welcome the opportunity.

Given the resurgence of fighting games in recent years–and the fact that Marvel doesn’t have an active fighting game in development on a console as far as we know–a Marvel fighting game developed by Arc System Works is an interesting proposition that doesn’t seem beyond the realm of possibility. While Capcom didn’t have quite the success they had hoped for with Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite, that evidently hasn’t deterred Mori-san from wanting to take on the franchise.
