Blizzard Celebrates Diablo’s 20th Anniversary With Their Players

On December 31st, 1996, Blizzard Entertainment released the first ever Diablo game. In the past 20 years, Diablo has become one of the best known series in the gaming world.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of popular series, Blizzard will be giving Diablo-themed content to all of their fans. Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls players will take part in a special event in the game. The event called The Darkening of Tristram lets players visit the Cathedral Dungeon from the original game. This event will go live in January so be on the lookout for that. This event will be available for a short period of time and will reward players with a unique retro vision filter.

Blizzard isn’t only celebrating the anniversary with Diablo players, as Diablo-themed content is being added to Overwatch, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft 2 and World of Warcraft. Overwatch and StarCraft 2 players will be getting getting portraits and sprays so that’s something to look forward to, while others game such as Hearthstone, have an new in-game duel with a Dark Wanderer coming their way.

Here’s a list of all the content coming to Blizzard games in celebration of the 20th anniversary:

Overwatch: Bring the battle for Sanctuary into the fight for the future with in-game sprays representing your favorite Diablo III classes—along with a new player icon modeled after the Lord of Terror!

Hearthstone: In this Tavern Brawl, a hooded stranger awaits, holding a grim deck in his hands. Will you unravel the secrets surrounding this dark wanderer?

Heroes of the Storm: The battle for the High Heavens continues, and a new Diablo-themed portrait is up for grabs! Can you emerge victorious on this hectic new brawl map?

StarCraft II: Put the Lord of Terror to work for you with a Diablo-themed worker portrait.

World of Warcraft: Strange things are afoot in the world of Azeroth as denizens of Sanctuary cross over into an unfamiliar world.

Overwatch - Blizzard Gives Away Free Loot Boxes To Players

All of these events will be available for everyone next month, so make sure you don’t miss out on all the new content coming to the game of your choice.
