Bloodborne Tops 1 Million Sales Worldwide

Umbasa! Bloodborne, the PS4 exclusive made by the collaboration of Sony’s Japan Studio and FROM Software, has sold through to consumers 1 million copies as of April 5. This news comes just right after Sony announced that the game was the top seller on PlayStation Store in March.

For reference, Dark Souls 2 sold 1.2 Million copies in 3 weeks on 2 platforms, which makes the result for Bloodborne the more impressive being it a PS4 exclusive. The man who supported and of course greenlit this project, Shuhei Yoshida, was very happy with this result:

“Bloodborne was a new challenge for us, and our goal was to create a title that took full advantage of the power of PS4, I am thrilled that so many users have been enjoying the extremely rich and detailed world, beautiful melancholic atmosphere and palpable tension of Bloodborne. SCE WWS will continue to bring exciting software titles that offer entertainment experiences only possible on PS4.”(Thank you, Gematsu).

This bodies well for future collaborations with FROM Software and I suspect that we’ll see a Bloodborne 2 in the next few years.

Bloodborne launched on March 24 exclusively on PS4.

Have you played Bloodborne and think it deserves this success? Let us know in the comments.
