After a 7 year wait, Gearbox Software will finally be releasing Borderlands 3 on September 13, 2019. The game has been in development at Gearbox as early as 2015 and was revealed at PAX East on March 28, 2019. Borderlands 3 will released on PS4, Xbox One and PC. With the initial trailer, Borderlands 3 gives us an insight to the four playable characters from which you can choose from, along with return of some previous borderlands character. The map includes multiple hidden worlds to explore, along with the mineral rich planet of Pandora, seen in the original borderlands series.
However, the question on everyone’s mind is, will Borderlands 3 be coming to Steam. With both 1 and 2, along with Borderlands: Handsome Collection being available on Steam, makes viewers wonder whether Borderlands 3 will also be coming on steam.
Is Borderlands 3 releasing on Steam?
Borderlands 3 becomes the latest game that is shifting it’s focus from Steam to Epic Games. The decisions comes after 2K games announced Borderlands 3, pointing out the company’s focus on other gaming platforms. Borderlands 3 will not be releasing on steam, as Epic games store for Microsoft Windows will have exclusive PC distribution rights, till April 2020. Many are criticizing the move, calling it a pay off to buy exclusives, with some calling it just good business. Either way, the release of Borderlands 3 just made Epic games a bit less avoidable.
When will Borderlands 3 release on Steam?
Fortunately, the Borderlands 3 is also said to be released on additional PC digital storefronts after 2020, opening an anticipated entry for Steam to release Borderland 3 on it’s platform. It is also expected, that steam will launch DLC for Borderlands 3 in order to compete with Epic’s six months head start. In any case, the race is definitely on for this immensely loved game.
