In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, players have the option to buy a house for Link to rest in. This is completely up to the player, and you do not have to do this if you don’t want to.

How To Buy A House In Zelda Breath of the Wild:
To buy a house, players will have to travel to the Hateno Village. Once there, head to the back end of the village and you will see some builders sitting next to a campfire. Interactive with the builders and they will give you the option to either buy the house for a large sum of money, or you could buy it for a discounted price if you can give them 30 bundles of wood.
If you are low on money then the second option if ideal for you. You can collect the wood by using an axe on any trees you see around you. Once you have the wood and the money, go back to the builders and they will sell you the house.
As mentioned before, buying the house is not compulsory and you don’t have to buy it if you don’t want to. This is completely optional and you won’t get anything out of it other then a house to rest in.
