The latest Call of Duty title, Black Ops 3, is being developed for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC resulting in the Nintendo Wii U missing on another Call of Duty title after last year’s Advanced Warfare also failed to release for the console.
Call of Duty hasn’t been the best seller on Nintendo consoles Activision might have expected it to be as the series is mostly played on the Playstation and Xbox. After Black Ops 3 was announced to be current gen only Activision completely dropped the last generation of consoles to not have them hinder development.
Call of Duty Black Ops 3 will be the most ambitious title in the series taking place in 2065 where cybernetic enhancements are the norm and supersoliders roam the battlefields. Black Ops 3 is set to release for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 6. A Beta is also planned for the game which fans can get into with pre-ordering the game.
Today talk around the Internet is that Activision might be planning some Call of Duty related projects for the Wii U. The official Call of Duty website recently started allowing users to connect their Nintendo IDs which is wierd since after Ghosts there haven’t been any Call of Duty games on the Wii U. A fan asked the question to Activision Support on Twitter to which they replied as follows:
@GoodGamer14 Hey there. Stay tuned for more Wii U releases. ^DL

Now nothing is concrete but if Activision does decide to put out a Wii U exclusive Call of Duty title developed ground up for the console then that could prove to be an interesting choice for Wii U owners. Maybe they could do something like they did with the Assassin’s Creed spin off titles?
