Infinity Ward has confirmed that they are developing the newest Call of Duty 2016 set to release this year for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. While we have the confirmation of the developer, the details regarding the game are still shrouded in mystery.
Industry Insider Shinobi has now lifted the curtain on some of the details regarding this upcoming first person shooter from Infinity Ward. According to Shinobi, the game will be a full-on sci-fic shooter and will be set in a “very far future”. He also stated that the game will feature Space Combat.
Call of Duty Black Ops 3 was also a futuristic sci-fic shooter but it was set on Earth. The game might have its fair share of tech but according to Shinobi, the upcoming Call of Duty will make Black Ops 3 look like it is set in “stone age”, which possibly hints at weapons and gadgets that are only seen in science fiction movies set in space.
Call of Duty 2016 will likely get revealed at E3 2016. Considering the immense success of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, it is not surprising to see the series continue its yearly release tradition. Each of the Call of Duty is usually rotated between various developers including Treyarch, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games.
