Call of Duty 2019 Is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Will Be A “Soft Reboot”

The next COD game is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Activision is going to announce the next Call of Duty real soon but ahead of their official announcement, the name of the game has leaked and it is not Modern Warfare 4 but COD: Modern Warfare.

Multiple sources have confirmed that the next Call of Duty is called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It was first shared by YouTuber LongSensation and later confirmed by Kotaku.

According to Kotaku, this is a “soft reboot” of the first Modern Warfare which is being developed by Infinity Ward. It is not going to be a retread of the old game but feels like a new one.

Kotaku also adds that “It’ll be heavy on troubling, realistic emotional moments, very much inspired by the controversial No Russian campaign in Modern Warfare 2 that allowed the player to gun down civilians.”

Eurogamer has learned from their sources that Activision will announce the game officially on May 30th, so the confirmation around its name will be coming real soon. They have been showing the game to various Youtubers and influencers for the past two weeks so there was always going to be a leak.

COD: Modern Warfare will be out later this fall. In addition to this, PEGI had leaked COD: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered which could be possibly bundled with the game.
