There is suspense around the next Call of Duty after Black Ops 4. Infinity Ward made a great single player Call of Duty last time with their Infinite Warfare, so they are next in line for Call of Duty 2019.
Call of Duty: Ghosts was one of the launch titles for the PS4 and Xbox One. It was also terrible overall and faced a lot of criticism due to its average single player and terrible multiplayer. It was a forgetful experience at best, so this is why when Infinity Ward shared a teaser for their next project, which is this year’s Call of Duty, everyone was assuming that it is going to be Call of Duty: Ghosts 2.

The tweet above shows a creepy skeleton image and it was posted by the Senior Communications Manager at Infinity Ward without any word. Teasing about a Call of Duty game usually starts this way and has been going on like that in the past as well. World War 2, for example, was teased with a short snippet of weapons that fans immediately recognized and linked to World War era.
What Is Call of Duty 2019? Call of Duty Ghosts 2 or Call of Duty Infinite Warfare 2?
So what exactly is the new teaser? At first, most people were jumping to the conclusion that this is Call of Duty: Ghosts 2, however Jason Schreier, a long-time Kotaku editor and known to have ties inside the industry, has clarified that this is not going to be Call of Duty: Ghosts 2, so we can scratch that off the list for now.
It is early in the year so Infinity Ward has plenty of time to tease more of their project leading to an eventual reveal. This will likely happen around E3 in June just like last time.
