Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting a reboot with a brand new game handled by Infinity Ward, which is out later this year. Here are the details on the PS4 and PS4 Pro resolution and frame rate.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was offering a closed Alpha for owners of PS Plus recently. This was based on the new limited 2 vs. 2 Gunfight mode. This Alpha build of the game offers an insight into the resolution and frame rate for the game.
YouTube channel VGTech has covered both of them in detail offering details on what to expect from them on the two different platforms. The game runs at 60 FPS on both the regular PS4 and its Pro upgrade.
PS4 uses a dynamic resolution with the lowest native resolution found being approximately 960×1080 and the highest native resolution found being 1920×1080. On PS4 a form of temporal reconstruction is used that can increase the pixel count to 1920×1080 when the native resolution is below this figure.
PS4 Pro uses a dynamic resolution with the lowest native resolution found being approximately 1152×1800 and the highest native resolution found being 1920×2160. On PS4 Pro a form of temporal reconstruction is used that can increase the resolution above the natively rendered resolution.
The maximum resolution that can be reached with this temporal reconstruction technique on PS4 Pro seems to be 1920×2160. The PS4 Pro appears to downsample from this resolution when outputting at 1080p.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be out on October 25, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
