Castlevania Requiem Collection Is Coming To PS4, Rated By ESRB

Castlevania is making its first entry this generation with a collection from Konami as the games have been rated by ESRB.

They were earlier leaked through Korean Rating Board and now all but confirmed for the PS4 and Western release with the rating of ESRB, which describes a Castlevania Requiem collection featuring Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood.

The rating as described can be found below. It mentions the usual content that can be considered explicit and serves as a reminder for parents looking to buy these games for their kids.

This is collection of two action platformers in which players assume the role of a vampire hunter battling Dracula and other creatures. From a side-scrolling perspective, players traverse Dracula’s castle to kill fantastical enemies (e.g., zombies, demons, minotaurs). Characters use whips, swords, axes, and magic to defeat enemies. Pixelated blood is depicted when players’ character and creatures are killed; some attacks result in decapitation and dismemberment of creatures, including a boss character that loses its body parts and entrails. As players progress, they may encounter female creatures (e.g., harpies, medusa) that have exposed buttocks and are depicted topless, though there are no discernible details (i.e., no nipples).

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was originally released for the PS1. It was later ported to the PSP along with Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. If both of these games are coming in a collection, it is possible that they might be ports of the PSP version. We will have to wait until an official announcement happens from Konami in order to confirm if they are remastered or simple re-releases.
