CD Projekt Red announces Gwent, the Witcher card game

Today during Microsoft’s E3 press conference, CD Projekt announced a standalone digital card game spin-off of The Witcher 3‘s Gwent.

Its a multiplayer game that supports crossplay, so you can hold matches against people whether they use PC or console. When you win, you get to craft newer cards, which you can then add to your deck to improve it. Here’s the trailer below!

The new game will feature the same method of gameplay as shown in the Witcher, but the cards are getting a new look. We will also be getting a competitive multiplayer mode, along with a fully furnished single player campaign. No word yet on when the game will be launching, but a closed beta will be available in September. It’ll be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

The closed beta begins on Xbox One and Windows in September. If you want to sign up, head over to There have been no announcements made regarding whether the game will be free to play with paid card packs, or a premium purchase from the get go.
