COD: Black Ops 3 Player Discovers Mysterious Secret Menu Hidden In Data Vault, Allows Text Input

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is developed by Treyarch who are famous for the amount of content and secret that they usually offer in games. Black Ops 3 is no exception in that case and there is a wealth of in-game content on offer here including multiple campaigns mode and Dead Ops, a top-down shooter that is a new game on its own. Now one player has discovered a hidden secret menu in the game which allows text input, although it is still a mystery what type of text it accepts so far.

This discovery was made by YouTube user Ron Scottznbrgr and he shared his method in detail as well. Check it out in action in the video below.

Here is what you need to do in order to access it in the game.

  • Open the data vault.
  • Go to top left area of the screen. You will be highlighting the weird “S” logo, and your cursor will disappear. (Hitting “X” [PS4], or “A”[X1] here will take you to the Dead Ops mode, although this is not at all necessary to get to the menu)
  • Hold all of the Shoulder Buttons, then press {[PS4] Square, then Triangle}, or {[X1] “X”, then “Y”}

It is still unknown what purpose it serves in the game aside from being a cool Easter egg. Hopefully it leads to some other cool looking secret in the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is out now on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
