Crackdown 3 has been delayed again according to a report from Kotaku. The game has been delayed for atleast 2 years now if the recent rumor turns out to be correct. Crackdown 3 was originally announced at E3 2014 and was planned for a release in November 2017 along with the Xbox One X.
Crackdown is an open world third person shooter where the focus is on the freedom to destruct objects. Players are able to utilize their powers and weapons arsenal to wreck mayhem in a large city. When the game was first revealed at E3 2014, it was promised to deliver large scale destruction with the ability to completely destruct a whole skyscraper. This was done through the power of the cloud that was a big marketing point during their earlier E3 conference.
Crackdown 3 made a change from its initial appearance when it was revealed again at E3 2017. The destruction appears to have been toned down and the gameplay was also changed from its initial reveal. There was no mention of cloud processing for the increased destruction.
This brings us to today, Kotaku has learned multiple sources that the game is now delayed to 2019. If this report is accurate, this will make it the 3rd delay for the game which was initially confirmed for launching with the Xbox One X in November 2017. If the game does finally launch in 2019, it will make it close to 5 years since its initial announcement to release window.
