Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy VII Remake are both one of the most anticipated upcoming RPGs. They both might be launching close to each other as well, according to a new rumor.
According to Kotaku editor Jason Schreier, both of these games are going to launch in the first half of 2020. Cyberpunk 2077 might be announced for a 2019 release date but it is possible that the game will get delayed to 2020 since internally, CD Projekt Red doesn’t see it as a viable release date.
This has gotten a lot of Reddit attention so some clarity: I've heard from three sources that Cyberpunk was aiming for 2019, but belief around the studio was that it was an unrealistic target. I expect first half 2020 or maybe even an E3 announcement of 2019, then a delay to 2020 https://t.co/8QsOatEFfJ

In response to another question, he later added that he has heard the same about Final Fantasy VII Remake getting a release date in early 2020. He has already hinted that The Last of Us Part 2 will also release in the 1st half of 2020.
Based on what I've heard, yes to all of those. 2020 gonna be wild

Final Fantasy VII Remake and Cyberpunk 2077 are both expected to get a new announcement and gameplay showcase at E3 2019. If Square Enix and CD Projekt Red have a plan to announce a release date, they will share it during this time.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released as a multi-part series and the first part is now expected to launch in early 2020. It is currently confirmed as an exclusive for the PS4.
