Cyberpunk 2077 Has More Developers Working On It Than Witcher 3 In Its Intensive Months

CD Project Red has released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt last year, which also won numerous game of the year awards and received critical acclaim. It was followed by two major story expansions, both of which were well received. The last story expansion was released this May and since then, they have announced a spin-off to The Witcher 3 mini game, Gwent.

CD Project Red has also teased their new project Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2013. This teaser was a full motion CG video that didn’t really show any meaningful gameplay. While they haven’t revealed any new details on their upcoming game, they did share some information regarding the state of the game’s development in an investors Q/A as shared on reddit.

Cyberpunk 2077 still has no release year yet and we don’t even know much from the game, but CD Project Red did confirm that while they have 100 developers working on Gwent, the rest of the development team is working on Cyberpunk 2077.

As for the number of developers, they stated that “There are currently more game developers working on Cyberpunk 2077 than on The Witcher 3 in its most intensive month.”

This is an interesting answer since it shows that the development of the game is in full swing. Maybe they have progressed far enough to give us a glimpse of the game at E3 2017.

Let us know what you think about this upcoming project of CD Project Red in the comments below.
