Darkest Dungeon, the gothic indie RPG, is coming to the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita next month. Developed by Red Hook Studios, the game was released on Steam Early Access back on 19th January.
Darkest Dungeon is a turn-based dungeon crawler in which the player must recruit a team of heroes, and venture into the dungeons beneath their manor. As the heroes do battle with the enemies in these dungeons, they develop afflictions such as stress, paranoia and fear.
These afflictions play a major role in the gameplay, as characters who becomes afflicted with them are unable to properly fight and perform other actions. The game also features a perma-death feature, meaning that if your heroes die while exploring a dungeon, they remain dead for good. Dungeons in the game are also procedurally generated.
The game will become available on the PlayStation Store on September 27 for $24.99, and PlayStation Plus members will also receive an additional 20% discount for the game. Additionally, all content released thus far for the PC version of the game, will also be available for the PS4 and PS Vita at launch, all 15 classes and over 40 different Town Events.
Finally, the game will also supports cross-save and cross-buy functionality, so if you purchase Darkest Dungeon on one platform, it will be automatically available on the other one as well.
