Kojima: Death Stranding Development Going As Planned, Release Date Has Not Changed

Death Stranding might get a release date soon as the development seems to be going smoothly for it.

Death Stranding received a brand new gameplay trailer and revealed two new characters at TGS 2018. During the panel at Tokyo Game Show 2018, Hideo Kojima also talked about the release date for the game.

While the original panel was in Japanese, YouTuber YongYea has taken the liberty to translate most of it and here is what Kojima had to say regarding the release date and other game details.

  • Kojima’s first task was finding office and engine. Now he is working from morning to evening on the game and supervises everything.
  • It took Kojima a year to get Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen for Death Stranding.
  • As for how he decides to pick the cast: “Their acting skills, but most importantly, their personality is the most important. Also how much I can trust them.”
  • When asked about the release date, Kojima said: “The release date for Death Stranding hasn’t changed… yet. Please wait a bit more for it. Thanks.”

The new gameplay trailer for Death Stranding not only introduced the new characters but also the cast for the Japanese version. Some of the old Metal Gear Solid voice actors are returning for Death Stranding including Solid Snake and Ocelot’s voice actors.

Mikami who plays Ocelot in Metal Gear Solid will voice the Troy Baker Golden Skull character that was revealed today. Akio Otsuka and Tsuda both also voice different characters in Death Stranding.

Death Stranding will be released exclusively for the PS4. It is being developed by Kojima Productions and will be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
