Here Are December’s Free Maps For Gears of War 4

Following last month’s free update that added two fan favorite maps to the game, Checkout and Drydock, The Coalition has now revealed the features present in the December update for the game.

This news comes courtesy of an official post on Xbox Wire, where Liam Ashley, Community Manager at The Coalition, gave some insight into the two new maps coming to the game this month. The maps this time around are titled Speyer and Glory.

Speyer

Evacuated long ago, this lonely district of Speyer is a still image of pre-Locust War life. The battle for the sanctuary is a close quarters affair, but teams looking to control the sprawling academy will need to do so together. Speyer’s opulent interiors and quaint plazas are best suited to longer range engagements.

Glory

A monument of military might, this COG battery was used only against the most strategic targets to maintain its secrecy. The defensibility of this fortress can be used to your advantage if captured, which includes a powerful mounted turret that can suppress the courtyard below.

The update will also add a number of other features:

  • A Daily Rewards system
  • Improved visual feedback for damage dealt with the Gnasher
  • Vertical Split-Screen for Windows 10 players
  • Improvements to footstep audio balance, audio/video settings
  • A whole lot more!

The new maps will be available for Season Pass holders on 6th December, following which they will arrive on public playlists starting on 13th December. This update will mark the second of the free monthly map packs planned for the game, leaving 20 more maps to be released over the next 10 months.
