Demon’s Souls Remaster Will Happen, Says Kotaku Editor Jason Schreier [Rumor]

Demon’s Souls Remaster is one of the most requests games from fans of the series. One of the reasons why it keeps being brought up is because not only was it considered a cult classic, but the game was restricted due to the PS3 hardware in both performance and visuals.

Kotaku editor Jason Schreier doesn’t need an introduction. He has been reliable with a proven track record of leaks and sources inside the game industry. In a thread on gaming forum resetERA where a user asked about whether Sony will ever release a remaster of Demon’s Souls, Jason was one of the first posters to comment with a resounding “yes” adding more fuel to the fire.

Souls series creator and veteran director Hidetaka Miyazaki had said in an earlier interview that the remaster can happen but depending on if Sony allows it.

Demon’s Souls servers for PS3 were closed down earlier but the fans were still hoping for a remaster of the game on PS4. They found a way to make the game work online despite the lack of servers.

While an official announcement for the remaster hasn’t happened yet, knowing Sony and after the confirmation from Jason Schreier, perhaps this will change soon. Demon’s Souls, just like Medieval and Shadow of the Colossus, can benefit more from a remake than a remaster. Normally, the ideal candidate here will be Bluepoint Games but only time will tell what Sony has planned for the game.
