At the moment, Destiny and Destiny 2 are still down and the last update shared by Bungie was around 20 minutes ago when they confirmed that they are investigating the problem and will update with a fix. If you are hoping to play Destiny today, it is best to wait until the issue is resolved.
Destiny and Destiny 2 are both an online game that offers a shared connected universe. There is no way to play the game offline which means if the servers go down, the game goes offline along with them. The current error that is being faced by Destiny and Destiny 2 players is codenamed Stork error. Bungie has a tendency to name their error codes which is why you might be seeing weird error codes right now.
Destiny 2 has just launched for the Google Stadia as well. The errors are being faced by all users across PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
