Destiny court documents reveal Activision’s initial release plan

Destiny is one of those games that you either love or hate. After years of development time and hype, Halo creators Bungie wanted to move out of Master Chief’s shadow with their new game which was finally released in 2014 after a year delay to work on the game’s story.

New court documents have surfaced from the Marty O’Donnell and Bungie case. The composer was fired “without cause” which led to some bad blood.

The documents show the initial plans for Destiny as laid down by Bungie and Activision. The game as we all know was planned to release in 2013, going by that release plan Destiny 2 would have released later this month. Four main games were planned codenamed ‘Project Tiger’ with ‘Comet 4’ being DLC.
