Destiny’s Upcoming ‘Rise of Iron’ Expansion Leaked, Will Be Released This September – Report

Destiny is getting a brand new expansion this September according to a leaked image shared on reddit that reveals the main cover art for this upcoming expansion.

The cover art features Lord Saladin, who is the well known for his role in the Iron Banner. He is detailed in the official Destiny lore as “hero to the City and a legend in his own right.” You can check out this cover art below.

Kotaku has verified this image through their sources and confirmed that this expansion is set to release this September and will be revealed at the upcoming E3. In addition to the expansion, we learn that Destiny is getting rebooted with the project charge being taken by Luke Smith, who also handled The Taken King expansion and will now foresee the developed of the Destiny sequel set to release in 2017.

Destiny was released in September 2014 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. It has received two full sized expansions so far including the last major expansion, The Taken King, which was released last September. Rise of the Iron will be the first major expansion after the release of The Taken King.
