To get the alternate ending in DMC5, you’ll need to fight against Urizen in the prologue encounter. Mid-way through the fight with Urizen, a cutscene might have kicked in ending the playable part of the fight. Now it might feel like you weren’t meant to defeat Urizen but its not true, defeating Urizen in the first encounter is part of unlocking the alternate ending.
The key is to damage Urizen’s crystals so his shields fall, creating an opportunity to cause more damage to him. It’s important to note that you will have a limited amount of time before his shields are back up. When you defeat Urizen, you will get the “Well I’ll Be Damned” trophy and achievement and get the secret ending.
