Capcom has announced today that they will be bringing the classic Devil May Cry games to the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The collection is titled Devil May Cry HD Collection and it originally launched for the PS3 and Xbox 360. There was no PC release of this collection so this marks the first time all of the classic Devil May Cry games will be playable on PC.
Devil May Cry HD Collection contains the first 3 games in the series. The original Devil May Cry was the brainchild of Hideki Kamiya, who then worked on Bayonetta. It set a new standard in stylish action genre. The series received a sequel soon after that was meet with a lot of backlash due to its terrible combat and darker take on the series. It remains one of the low point for the series even today. This was quickly followed up with the superior Devil May Cry 3 which was essentially a prequel set before the events of Devil May Cry 2.
Devil May Cry HD Collection will launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC on March 13, 2018 and will feature all 3 games remastered in HD. It will be sold at $29.99 at both retail and digital. Capcom didn’t confirm any additional visual improvements so it is safe to assume that the games will be a simple port of the PS3 and 360 version of the collection.
