Capcom has released a brand new update for Devil May Cry HD Collection today for the PC, Xbox One and PS4. This update is around 1.8 GB on PC and 2.6 GB for PS4 and Xbox One. Since Devil May Cry HD Collection is a remaster of the old games, this led to some fans speculating that this update might be related to bug fixes that most fans complained were a part of the game at launch.
While there doesn’t appear to be much information from Capcom regarding this new update, the patch notes on the PS4 mention the following changes.
Bug fixes and simplified Chinese implementation.
Devil May Cry HD Collection is a re-release of the Devil May Cry trilogy from the PS3. The game was remastered with HD graphics on the PS3 and Xbox 360 while Capcom has released them with an update to 1080p on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. This collections includes the first 3 Devil May Cry games that were originally released for the PS2.
Devil May Cry HD Collection was criticized for being a ‘lazy’ remaster with no improvements. It also kept most of the issues that existed with the HD collection on the PS3 and Xbox 360 include 4:3 aspect ratio or the UI and pre-rendered cutscenes, which created a jarring experience next to the 1080p gameplay.
