Digimon Survive has been delayed to 2020 from its planned 2019 release window. This was confirmed by Bandai Namco. This announcement was made at the “Future of Digimon” panel at Anime Expo 2019.
Digimon Survive was first revealed last year as a new entry in the Digimon series. It is not related to Digimon Story or Digimon World spin-off but appears to tackle a different genre altogether.
Digimon Survive was initially confirmed for PS4 and announced last year. It was then later revealed that the game will also release for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. After the delay, it will now launch in 2020.
The story of Digital Survive revolves around a group of teenagers led by the hero Takuma Momozuka. They go on a school camping trip together and end up getting lost, and are transported to a strange new world full of danger and monsters.
The game offers players the choice to change how the evolution of their monster allies will take place and also alter the final ending. The combat system is in full 2D with a classic Strategy RPG layout for battles. It will be out later in 2020.
