DOOM will get a brand new update tomorrow on March 29 for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X support. This update will implement support for 4K resolution for the game. The original DOOM runs at a dynamic 1080p resolution with 60 FPS on the PS4 and Xbox One so this likely also applies to the 4K update which might put the limit of the resolution to 4K instead of 1080p.
DOOM released in Summer 2016 and received generally great reviews from the critics. The game reached the status of a cult classic hit with fans due to its fast paced gameplay mixed with incredible visuals. The latest update will let consoles users now experience the game with 4K resolution support although there was no mention of any addition of HDR.
DOOM was confirmed to get an Xbox One X update soon since the official support website was updated to change the status of the Xbox One X patch from ‘in development’ to ‘coming soon.’ Bethesda has confirmed now that the patch will release for both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
