Doom has been updated to version 1.2 on the Nintendo Switch. Here’s what new and fixed with this new update.

Panic Button has released a new update today for the Nintendo Switch port. This update will finally bring video capture to the game on the Nintendo Switch hardware. It was disabled due to performance related issues but it seems like this update will finally enable it again.

Doom update version 1.2 is out now and requires you to download roughly 350 MB of data. You can check to see if you have the new update by finding out the version of the game. If you are running on 1.1.1 then you still have the old update installed. The new Doom update version 1.2 makes the following changes.

Doom Update Version 1.2 Patch Notes For Nintendo Switch

  • Increased performance.
  • Ability to add a recent player to your Friend list.
  • Video Capture.

Doom was ported to the Nintendo Switch by Panic Button. It was their second major project for the Nintendo Switch after they were done with porting Rocket League. Doom manages to look fine on the Nintendo Switch, especially in the handheld mode. It obviously has a performance drawback due to the lower resolution and 30 FPS target compared to the 60 FPS on all other platforms.
