Dragon Ball Game Project Z gets first details; developed by CyberConnect2 for PS4, Xbox One and PS4 for a 2019 release

Bandai Namco has released first details for their upcoming Action RPG game – Dragon Ball Game Project Z after announcing it a few weeks ago.

The game is being developed by CyberConnect 2, the folks behind the .Hack and Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm games. This announcement confirms that Dimps, the developers of the Dragon Ball: Xenoverse games, are not working on Dragon Ball Game Project Z. Fans were previously speculating Project Z to be a sequel or extension of the Xenoverse games but by the look of things this is its own thing.

The game is being developed for a 2019 release on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Check out the first trailer below:

Bandai Namco promised the game would “never before expressed, nostalgic, and new Dragon Ball world” and we’re really excited to see what they come up with.

Here’s the overview of Dragon Ball Game Project Z:

In this epic retelling, Dragon Ball fans will be able to play through the legendary adventures of the Saiyan named Kakarot… better known as Goku—recounting the beloved story of Dragon Ball Z like never before.

Players will experience Goku’s quest for power, his thirst for a challenge and, above all, his desire to protect Earth from the most fearsome of villains.

Developed in partnership with CyberConnect2, the game (with full title to be announced) will launch in 2019 featuring both Japanese and English voiceovers.

Hopefully we get some actual gameplay soon!
