Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will have other playable characters including Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan

It seems unlike what we thought earlier, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will not have just Goku as the playable character.

The latest issue of V-Jump reveals that alongside Goku players will be also able to play as Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan. The aforementioned three will also function as Support Characters.

The magazine mentions Vegeta to be usable after starting the Planet Namek section of the story. This certainly makes sense as it sparks Vegeta’s move over to the good guys in the lore.

Other characters like Chiaotzu, Tien Shinhan, Krillin, and Yamcha will also feature but only as Support Characters. These characters are able to provide support will attacking and guarding.

In terms of game mechanics, in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot you’ll be able to increase your stats via either participating in battles or by eating food. This is certainly an interesting mechanic as it seems food collection will be important in the exploration sections.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was officially unveiled last month at E3 during Microsoft’s keynote. The Cyberconnect2 developed Action RPG was originally announced earlier as Dragon Ball Game Project Z.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is set to release on PS4, Xbox One and PC in early 2020.
