Techland has officially announced the next major expansion of Dying Light, which is named as The Following. This new expansion will be released between January and March, 2016. The developer claims that the region included in this expansion would be larger than all the maps of Dying Light and it will also change the game-play entirely. The producer of the game, Tymon Smektala, said,
So, since Gamescom 2015, we revealed quite a bit about our upcoming expansion: the vast countryside map, the customizable dirt buggy, a new story and more. What we couldn’t say before though, was the release date. Today we finally know that Dying Light: The Following will launch within the first three months of 2016. This gives us enough time to put in all the content and surprises we have planned for you guys. So keep your eyes peeled for some sneak peeks into what we have in the works for you all. And we promise to share the exact day of release as soon as we get a final decision.
The main character of the game, Crane, who is trying to survive a zombie apocalypse, will be fighting against zombies as well as extremists in this new expansion. He uses his Survival and Parkour skills to fight against the zombies. Moreover, the expansion also includes various vehicles, one of which is a dirt buggy or the ‘deadliest weapon’ as named by the developer of the game. This vehicle has unique features which can be upgraded further.
Dying Light: The Following will be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC at a price of $14.99. However, Season Pass holders will get the expansion free of cost.
