Today at Microsoft’s Xbox One reveal event, EA representative Andrew Wilson, announced that there will be four new titles to be launch titles of the also newly announced Xbox One. The titles are as follows: Fifa 14, Madden 14, NBA Live 14 and a new UFC title. This in and of itself isn’t that surprising seeing as that EA franchises always seem to find there way within the first couple of months of a new systems if not a launch title.
However, where it becomes interesting is about a week ago EA publicly made it known that they did not have any titles in development for the Wii U. While Wii U is sitting docile from lack of software, Xbox One is receiving 4 titles from a single developer/publisher.
Nothing specific was said about the games individually, but a new engine has been in production for EA’s next generation of games. Engine is called Ignite. Ignite promises to blur the lines between real life and the virtual world. Dynamic lighting, smoother animation and textures provide a new level in graphical fidelity. It has not been confirmed on whether or not this engine will perform for any other games EA has up its sleeves, but it would be safe to assume so.
Now out of the four games EA announced today, NBA Live is sure to have many long time fans in boisterous cries as it has been far too long since the last NBA Live. Since the cancellation of NBA Live Elite 11 and last years cancellation of NBA Live 13, the future of this franchise has been bleak. However, with the restoration this series, the rivalry with the NBA 2k series will now be revived and debates on which franchise is superior will be the topic of discussion among sports fans once again.

Personally, I’m looking forward to the new Fifa title. What about you?
