If you haven’t been keeping up the news in the Football (No, I’m not gonna call it Soccer) World, Cristiano Ronaldo, who many consider to be the best player in the game right now is facing some serious Rape Allegations dating back to 2009.
Ronaldo is accused to have raped a woman in 2009 in Las Vegas, the victim has come up now to tell her side of the story.
Ronaldo is FIFA 19’s main representative and their cover star, EA made a statement on the situation yesterday which is as follows:
We have seen the concerning report that details allegations against Cristiano Ronaldo. We are closely monitoring the situation, as we expect cover athletes and ambassadors to conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with EA’s values.
Interestingly he was removed today from EA’s website where the publisher showcase their Sports games, as you can see in the screenshot below, all of EA’s other Sports franchises have their cover starts on the icons, just not Ronaldo.
The whole case is pretty messy, with German magazine Der Spiegel leaking some bizarre documents where Ronaldo confirmed some of the allegations made against him.
It's a questionnaire made by his lawyers. Ronaldo seems to partly confirm Mayorga's version & stated that "she didn't want to, but she made herself available." In a later version of that questionnaire, these answers are gone. #CR7 is quoted saying it was consensual. 10/24 pic.twitter.com/1gsAcb5vZw
