During its E3 press conference today, Bethesda’s Todd Howard confirmed the often-rumored remastered version for Skyrim, titled The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition. The remastered title is being developed for the PS4 and Xbox One, and will feature several graphical upgrades over the previous generation iterations.
A trailer for the Special Edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim can be seen below.
New graphical effects include volumetric god rays, screen-space reflections, dynamic depth of field, new water and snow shaders, and more. In addition, these new console versions will also feature mod support, much like Bethesda’s other open-world RPG Fallout 4.
The remastered version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will arrive later this year on October 28 for both current generation platforms. Share your thoughts on this announcement in the comments below.
