Yesterday we saw Naughty Dog unveil The Last of Us Part II, during the PlayStation Experience 2016. The developers talked more about the game during a panel after the main show.
Naughty Dog did not give much information regarding the upcoming title, however, during the panel, Naughty Dog revealed that the lead character for the game will be Ellie. As we saw in the trailer, Ellie has grown up and is more than capable of taking care of herself.
As Joel follows the trail of bodies that leads to a room where Ellie is playing her guitar and singing “Through the Valley” by artist Shawn James. Joel asks Ellie, “What are you doing Kiddo? You really gonna go through with this?” To which Ellie replies “I’m gonna find, and I’m gonna kill, every last one of them.”
This gave us a clue on who will be the lead character in the game, however, nothing was confirmed at the time. We also got a chance to play as Ellie in The Last of Us: Left Behind DLC. In the DLC, we are unable to play the game’s main protagonist, Joel, as he is severely injured after a fight. We play as Ellie, as she tried to find supplies that will heal Joel’s wounds. This DLC was a great hit and got very positive reviews.
We can expect to see Ellie back in action when the Last of Us Part II comes out. We do not have any other information about the game, however, we can expect to see The Last of Us Part II in 2017.
