An adaptation of the game’s Pocket Edition, Minecraft: Windows 10 is a version of the game that is exclusive to the platform. The version has been in Beta since it’s release on 29th July, 2015, but is finally set to leave it with the newly announced Ender Update.
The 1.0 Ender Update will finally add the much awaited End dimension to the game, alongside perhaps the game’s most formidable enemy, the Ender Dragon. This will of course add End cities to the mix alongside the Shulker mob. You can also acquire the Purpur decorative Blocks now.
Additionally, the update will double the version’s current 128 block world height to 256, allowing players to build higher and utilize the increased height to test out the newly added Elytra glider as well.
Following the release of this update, Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition will possess the majority of the features present in the PC version of the game. There will also be a number of other features in this update that Microsoft has decided to keep under wraps for now, which might hint towards some platform exclusive features.
No official date has yet been announced for the 1.0 Ender Update, only that it will arrive before the end of the year for the Windows 10 and Pocket Editions.
