#UnrealTournament – So excited for the comeback
Unreal Tournament is coming back and it would be powered by Unreal Engine 4. Now let that sink in.
This comes as a huge surprise because earlier this year at GDC, Tim Sweeney of EPIC Games had stated that no new unreal tournament game was planned.
“We’re not [planning on] shipping an Unreal Tournament game
We have a lot of nostalgia for the game but we’re actually not developing anything in the Unreal game universe at all at the moment.”
The first Unreal Tournament was launched in 1999 and that started a journey which lasted almost 8 years with the latest installment, Unreal Tournament 3, hitting the shelves in 2007. Ever since, (besides a handful of expansion packs) the fans have been waiting for an upgrade but there was no news about it, until today that it.
This announcement was way over-due and let’s hope that the wait was worth it. Don’t forget to tune into their live stream on the 8th of May. We will also keep you posted if there are any developments!
