The Evil Within 2 has been rumored for a while now and it was leaked through a casting call for the game. While the announcement that a sequel will be released is no surprise, there was some doubt that Mikami will return to direct the sequel. In a new update regarding the status of the game, it has been confirmed that The Evil Within 2 is still being directed by Shinji Mikami, the father of Survival Horror.
This discovery was made through an official ad that was listed reddit just a day before the Bethesda E3 2017 conference. The ad confirmed that The Evil Within 2 is in development and the ad promoted that Mikami is still directing this sequel. This should be good news for those who are a fan of the work of Shinji Mikami.
The Evil Within was a psychological horror game that took the player through a journey in an insane mind. The game wasn’t exactly praised by critics but it received fairly average reviews. It was also a long game taking more than 12 hours for players that finished it the first time.
The Evil Within 2 still has no platform announced for it but if we go by the original, this might also get released for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
