F1 2013 coming on October 4th for current gen platforms

Codemasters has announced that their racing simulator, F1 2013 will hit the stores on October 4th for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

In order to celebrate the announcement of the game, Codemasters has released a short video on the over at the F1 2013 site which shows Daniel Ricciardo racing around the map and Anthony Davidson (former racer and consultant on the game) gives information about how to cut corners and such.

Codemasters has also announced that those who pick up the Classic Edition of the game can expect “content from the 1990s and additional circuits” from DLC packs. Two DLC packs have been created. One will contain cars of the 1990’s and drivers like David Coulthard, Jacques Villeneuve, Eddie Irvine and Alain Prost, among others. The second pack has not been detailed yet. Both packs will be available shortly after the game’s release.

Will you be picking this up? Or will you wait for Gran Turismo 6 and Forza Motorsport 5 – both of which will be releasing soon after F1 2013’s release? Let us know below.
