Just like last week, the official PS Blog has released a new article that details the PS4 Pro enhancements for the upcoming games including Agents of Mayhem, Sine Mora Ex and F1 2017.
F1 2017 is an upcoming racing game from Codemasters. The game is available for the PS4 and if you own a PS4 Pro, you should be able to utilize the extra hardware potential offered by the PS4 Pro to make the game run at 4K resolution. The developers have confirmed that the game uses checkerboard technology to render at 4K resolution for those who prefer to play the game on their 4K TV. There was no mention of any downsampling support for those who still have a native 1080p display.
Agents of Mayhem meanwhile utilizes a different approach to the PS4 Pro support and instead greatly improves the visuals on the PS4 Pro hardware. It will render at native 1080p resolution but the visuals will be improved from the base PS4 hardware. The developers will also utilize the hardware power here to make the crowd more dynamic and increase the vehicle count. The other improvements to the visuals are for LOD (level-of-detail) that will be improved greatly in addition to 16x AF (anisotropic filtering). There is also an increase in the shadow quality and particle effects while the game will run at an unlocked frame rate that should reach 60 FPS depending on the rendering load.
Sine Mora EX is a more less resource intensive game so the developers are able to leverage the power offered by the PS4 Pro hardware to render at native 4K resolution at 60 FPS. This is not the only improvement as the particle effects are improved across the board making for a more pleasing experience.
