When it comes to marketing, EA is always trying to come up with new ways to sell FIFA 18. Dynamic Substitutions was another marketing term that was thrown around for FIFA 18, except the issue is that it is not something new at all. This feature was already present in FIFA 16 and with the addition of voice commands. The shift to FIFA 17 not only removed them, it also completely eliminated any voice commands.
The release of FIFA 18 has brought back dynamic substitutions except they lack the voice command support as was the case with FIFA 16. You can watch them in action in the video below.
Dynamic Substitutions allow you to selection a substitutions before a match resulting in a quick substitution in the middle of the match without having to leave it. This can be seen in action in the video below which explains how to effectively utilize them in the match.
You can compare it to the integration featured in FIFA 16 to get an idea. The marketing is trying to present it as a new feature, when it really isn’t one. But considering the fact that EA has to sell players on a new FIFA with ways to differentiate it from the past games, it works in theory.
EA Sports has already released the Icon cards for Ronaldo and Diego Maradon for FIFA 18. The game will be released on September 29th for the PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
