Square Enix recently dropped a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake. Along with the announcement, we get an update from the game director Tetsuya Nomura regarding the launch and release for the game. Now according to a report, the game might release before April 2020.
The source of this report is Square Enix’s fiscal results where they mentioned that they have a major new game planned for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2020. They have just released Kingdom Hearts 3 and while they have multiple Avengers-related projects in development, they haven’t shown anything for them so far.
Final Fantasy VII Remake trailer gives a glimpse at the opening of the game and featured some combat footage as well. Since it will still be a multi-part release, Square Enix can get the first part out relatively quickly while working on the rest. This means there is a good chance that FFVII Remake might launch before April 2020.
It is hard to say if FFVII Remake is coming this year, but a release window of Q1 2020 lines up perfectly with the expectations set by Square Enix. The developer has promised more information at E3 in June so perhaps we might hear about the release date for Final Fantasy VII Remake during Square Enix’s E3 2019 press conference.
FFVII Remake was only announced for the PS4 but there are rumors suggesting that it might be a multiplatform project now.
