Final Fantasy VII: Remake Will Be A “Multi-Part” Series, Says Square Enix

Final Fantasy VII: Remake was recently shown at PlayStation Experience 2015 event. Square Enix released the first gameplay footage from the series featuring scenes from the opening of Final Fantasy VII. This opening and gameplay were well received by fans of the series but if you were expecting the whole game to be released in one single part, it doesn’t appear to be the case now judging from a press release that Square Enix has sent recently.

This press release from Square Enix lists Final Fantasy VII: Remake as a “multi-part” series with each entry providing its own “unique experience”. You can read the full press release sent by Square Enix below.

LOS ANGELES (Dec. 6, 2015) – During this past weekend’s PlayStation Experience in San Francisco, SQUARE ENIX® debuted a new trailer for FINAL FANTASY® VII REMAKE, the full remake of the award-winning role-playing game, FINAL FANTASY VII. The new trailer features the first CG scenes as well as gameplay footage. FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE will be told across a multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience.

Final Fantasy VII: Remake was announced at E3 2015, confirmed to be playable “First on PlayStation 4”. It is being directed by Tetsuya Nomura and produced by Yoshinori Kitase.
