Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age PS4 vs. PS4 Pro Comparison, Visual Improvements Detailed

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age

Digital Foundry are great at their technical analysis and they have recently done a detailed comparison between Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age on the PS4 and PS4 Pro. There is also a comparison between the old PS2 version of the game against the PS4 version so if you are interested in finding more about it, make sure to check out their article on it.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is native 1080p on the PS4 but the PS4 Pro support was considered as a ‘disappointment’ by Digital Foundry. The reason is because of the lack of visual upgrades between the Pro version and the regular PS4 version. The only noticeable improvement is the resolution where the Pro version features 1440p resolution over the 1080p for the PS4 version.

Digital Foundry notes that the remaster boosts several improvements on the visual front ranging from improved texture filtering, resolution, anti-aliasing and even improved textures throughout the game. These are all features that make it a better looking game than even the PC version emulated on a higher resolution. You can view a comparison between the PS4, PS4 Pro and the PS2 version in the video above.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is available now for the PS4. It was developed by Virtuous who have previously worked on the Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster and published by Square Enix.
