Final Fantasy XV is going to get a lengthy demo with the release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. It will be included with the day one edition of the game and the demo is expected to launch alongside Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.
During an interview with Polygon, Hajime Tabata, the director of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and XV, has confirmed that they have dropped the plans to include a drivable car in the upcoming demo.
“Originally we were planning on making the car be available to drive throughout the world and throughout the demo,” Tabata told Polygon. “But we didn’t want people to mistake it and think ‘When did Final Fantasy become a driving game?'”
He further added that players will be able to experience the starting point of Final Fantasy XV in the demo, and this decision has got to do with keeping a balance in the demo.
“You’ll be able to experience the starting point of what an open-world Final Fantasy would potentially feel like,” Tabata said. “You’ll really be able to experience that seamless Final Fantasy world within the demo itself, but then if you play it, you’ll still really get a sense that it’s a Final Fantasy game. You’ll get that balance within the demo.”
Final Fantasy XV demo is titled Episode Duscae and is set to launch alongside the release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD on March 17th, 2015.
