Square Enix has shared more details on the upcoming story DLC for Final Fantasy XV. This DLC will feature Ignis and it comes after story DLCs for Gladio and Prompto were released. Episode Ignis is reportedly a more meaty story DLC with focus on cutscenes. From the new trailer, we can also see that it will feature flashbacks to a young Noctis along with his father Regis.
Episode Ignis is currently set to launch on December 13th for the PS4 and Xbox One. It is also a part of the Season Pass, or you can buy it individually for $5. The story of the DLC is set during the invasion of Altissia and will explain how Ignis loses his eye sight leading to the death of Luna.
The keyart of the Episode was also shared by Square Enix and you can view it below. The guest composer this time is the legendary Yasunori Mitsuda who has worked on some cult classics like Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.
In addition to announcing Episode Ignis, Square Enix also shared some new gameplay from Final Fantasy XV Comrades Multiplayer expansion and the Monsters of the Deep PSVR game featuring Final Fantasy XV.
Final Fantasy XV is available now for the PS4 and Xbox One. It was also announced for Windows PC and will launch there in early 2018.
