Final Fantasy XV Has Gone Gold, Gets Mysterious ‘Omen’ CGI Trailer

Square Enix has announced today that Final Fantasy XV has gone gold. The game is now set to launch on November 29th and will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One.

If a game goes gold, it usually refers to all the development work being finalized while the game code is sent to factories for pressing on discs. This means that if the developers have to implement any changes now, they will have to do it with a day 1 patch.

Along with the announcement of Final Fantasy XV going gold, Square Enix has also released a brand new CGI trailer titled ‘Omen’. This trailer shows a prophecy foreseen by King Regis, father of Prince Noctis. There might be some spoilers in the trailer so watch at your own risk.

The trailer has a very grim dark feel to it that calls to mind the original Final Fantasy Versus reveal trailers. It was developed by Digic Pictures, who also worked on the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV movie.

Final Fantasy XV will be released on November 29th for the PS4 and Xbox One. It was originally slated for a released on September 30th but was delayed for two months to November 29th.
