Fire Emblem series creators trademark new IP for consoles and smartphones

Fire Emblem and Paper Mario developers Intelligent Systems have registered a new trademark in Japan for supposedly a game for consoles and smartphones.

The trademark is for カクトデール or Kakutodale (via JN) which roughly translates to “Fight it Out”.

The trademark details the IP to be a ‘program for home video game machine’ and ‘program for smartphone’ which means it’s probably a console and smartphone title.

Intelligent Systems are currently working on Fire Emblem: Three Houses for the Nintendo Switch, set to release in Q2 of 2019.

Considering how popular Fire Emblem Heroes is on iOS and Android making millions of dollars per month, it makes sense that IS wants to keep smartphones in mind for the future.
