Friday the 13th: The Game Release Delayed to 2017

After raising over a million dollars in funding through Kickstarter, BackerKit, and private investment, it is now confirmed that Friday the 13th: The Game will be bigger than what was originally planned.

In order to facilitate the changes made to the original plan, there has been a delay from Fall 2016 release window to a new launch window scheduled for Early 2017. Groundwork for the single player experience will be laid down in this extra time while continuing the development of the multiplayer portion with additional content.

Friday the 13th: The Game is an upcoming survival horror adventure video game published by Gun Media, and developed by Gun Media and IIIFonic. Owned by New Line Cinema, it is based on the franchise of the same name.

The game is an asymmetrical 1v7 multiplayer, of which one portrays Jason Voorhees. The main aim of the game is for the counselors to defeat Jason by teamwork and planning. As Jason chases after them, the counselors need to survive the night by running from him. The game ends when all players are murdered by Jason followed by a Friday the 13th themed trailer which showcases highlights of the game.

In late 2016, a Beta release is scheduled including four additional keys for friends. This will be followed by a multiplayer release in early 2017 with Tommy Jarvis and Packanack Lodge as the third playable map. Lastly, the single player release is scheduled for summer 2017.
